Super Easy Red Bead DIY Earrings

Easy Red Bead Earrings

You know what I’m a big fan of? Super easy projects. For a DIYer, I can cop to being totally lazy. My attention span just can’t manage complicated, multi-step stuff. And these pretty red diy earrings clock in around 3 minutes 30 seconds. Minimalism has its perks.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A strand of pretty beads. I’m a total sucker for red, which happens to go nicely with that little holiday coming up.
  • 2 headpins. You can find these in the earring section of any craft store. I’ve been scared to experiment with jewelry wires and pins – it seemed to “professional” for this amateur crafter. But once you get yourself a pair of jewelry pliers, it’s a whole new world of possibilities.
  • 2 earring wires
  • Jewelry pliers

Stack the beads on the headpin. Go pretty much all the way to the top, leaving just a bit of room on the pin at the end.

Bead Earring How-to

Take your pliers and make a loop out of the end piece of the headpin. Don’t close it all the way – you want to slip on the earring hook first.

Finish closing the loop after the earring wire is attached. Repeat to make a matching earring. Then give yourself a high five and go relax with a cup of coffee.

Oh, I love this! What a great statement piece. Red is fabulous as well, although I would wear any color. :) Thanks for sharing! Hope you are doing well with the three little ones at home!

Good to hear from you Lindsay! I’m a total sucker for red but you’re right, they’d be great in any color. Hope you are settling in to PA with your little ones!

You know, this I could actually make for store! Super easy is about all I could handle for my little Etsy shop :)

GOOD job! I teach jewelry making at JoAnns…all I would add to your directions is ..leave a 1/2-3/8inch to make the loop at the top using a Round nose plier (just to clairify), Making earrings is so quick and easy…and a great way to gain confidence and move on to other jewelry making projects ;-)

Yay for super easy! I feel the same way about cooking–I can be lazy too. I’m pretty sure I have some undiagnosed ADD thing going on. Anytime I try to make something really involved, my attention kind of peters out halfway through. :) These are so pretty–easy and cute is a good combination!

Exactly! I think I have craft ADD! Halfway through I’m distracted by some new, shiny project and I never finish. Pretty sure that’s why I can’t sew or knit :)

I wish I could take orders – maybe someday I’ll get around to opening an Etsy shop. Maybe when the kids are in college :)
