DIY Gold Hangers + 5 More Ways To Spruce Up Your Hangers

DIY Gold Hangers

Happy Friday! Hallelujah! I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the kind words last Friday. I haven’t had a chance to respond but I will! My mom passed away last Sunday and was laid to rest yesterday. This blog is a happy place so I won’t dwell (just go hug your mom!). And please don’t think I’m crazy for keeping up with this blog while my heart aches – the distraction is so helpful!

And apparently attacking things with spray paint also makes me happy. Whenever I get going with spray paint it’s hard to stop! After coating these earrings I think I might have painted the house gold if I could. But a couple of mini pumpkins and some hangers I had just picked up at Target were easier targets. Minimal effort + chic = my type of DIY inspiration.

Does anyone else have hanger OCD? It’s peaceful to me to have everything hung on all the same hangers, facing the same direction.

Whether you use wood, plastic or wire hangers, here are five ways to personalize them.

1) Got spray paint on hand? Go vibrant with fun colors like these from DesignLoveFest.

2) I love how this hanger from Maize Hutton brings nature into the home. And wouldn’t it be perfect for photo shoots?

3) Cover your plastic hangers with pretty floral fabric like Pie N’ The Sky.

4) Love these personalized wooden hangers by Eric at Caught on A Whim – perfect for gifts!

5) Yay for kitschy, bright wire hangers by Brit + Co. They are also non-slip!

Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m looking to start my own blog
in the near future but I’m having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.

P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong for each other, and definately let your pain and sorrow out. Don’t hold it in.

I thought I was the only 1 out there with the hanger OCD. My closet is a very neat (as in organized) place, even arranged by color. Thank you for a very fun idea to help make my closet “happy” :o)

The gilded hangers are so fun. Also, I’m honored to be included in your roundup with all these awesome hanger DIYs. Thanks bunches. It’s kinda funny because I was just brewing up another hanger DIY yesterday. We must be telecommunicating or something. ;)

I’m so glad to see you are back! I know it’s been hard, but getting back into a sense of routine and keeping busy can definitely help. I’m the same way. I know you’re mother is deeply loved and greatly missed.

I have about a zillion styles and colors of hangers in our closet. It bothers me immensely, but Chris just doesn’t see what the problem is. Love the fancy gold hangers!

And you are definitely not crazy for keeping up with your blog–sometimes staying busy is the best thing you can do…

My thoughts and prayers are going out to you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss. May your Mom rest in peace, and may you all find some consolation that she is no longer suffering.

My Mom is at the beginning of her final journey in life, having been diagnosed with PC just over a month ago. I hope that I can be as strong as you and your family have been. Bless you all.

P.S. I have grown to love your blog over these last many months. I am starting to work on some of the great craft ideas you’ve posted…I, too, need some comforting distractions, and you provide wonderful ways to do that!
